The letter to Holland

On the porch, the woman smiles and is probably writing down a nice incident, perhaps about the girl who can still be seen on the right, a little moved in the photo. The man is reading over her shoulder. The morning sun shines in the garden, it is warm, but the tiles on the floor feel wonderfully cool under bare feet.

The boat that carried the letter took about a month from the Dutch East-Indies to Holland. The family in Holland wrote back and then it took another month for the letter to arrive in the Dutch East-Indies. So they had to wait 2 months for an answer! This was the only way to contact the family overseas.
